Mill Lane Community Garden

Mill Lane Community Garden is a new addition to our Old Town Bloom sites having been constructed early in 2022 by a group of keen local residents and has seen an increased sense of community locally.

The session to extend the bed saw participants ranging from 8 years old to 80.

In 2023 the bed was doubled in size with support from a local garden centre to give additional growing space.

As the bed is at the junction of two steep hills, people are using it as a stopping and resting and chatting point on dog walks and runs.

The bed is used for growing a range of herbs, vegetables and companion flowers and perennial plants.
